I was born and raised in Montrose, Colorado. My family has many educators ranging from Superintendents to classified paraprofessionals. It was my dream to become a teacher since the third grade when my favorite teacher Mrs. White sparked the love of learning in me.
I graduated from Montrose High school in the early '80's. I attended Colorado State University for a year and a half and then finished my bachelor's degree at Western State College in Gunnison. My first teaching job was in Palmer Lake teaching third grade. I taught in Palmer Lake for eight years before moving to another elementary in Lewis-Palmer District 38, Grace Best Elementary where I taught for an additional four years before making the move to Academy District 20 in 1999.
I received my Master's in Curriculum and Instruction from Lesley College and my Principal's licensure through Denver University. After four years as a teacher and instructional coach at Academy Endeavour I became the Principal. This is the start of my fourteenth year as Principal at AE, the hardest most rewarding job I have ever had in my 30 years of serving students.
I am married and have a daughter who is a junior majoring in Exercise Science at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs. I also have four legged members of my family too. Dawson is a Kerry Blue Terrier and Jackson is a Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier. In my free time I enjoy shopping, watching baseball, and spending time with my family.

 Welcome Letter

Dear Families,
Welcome to Academy Endeavour Elementary, where we are on an enduring mission to provide a secure environment that engages all learners in aspiring to realize their potential. We are driven to fulfill the needs of the whole child through challenging academics and rich humanities fueled by meaningful core principals. We are united in our endeavour to launch each student on a journey of limitless possibilities. These words, directly from our mission statement, guide us daily as we work to educate our students to become their best selves.
Parental involvement is always encouraged at Academy Endeavour Elementary. The PTA is a great way to network with other parents. Our PTA is invaluable to our staff, as their work helps us achieve our student achievement goals by providing materials, services and morale boosters to our staff members. For more information on PTA please contact Jaime Cecil our PTA president. Another parent organization at AEES is our School Accountability Committee (SAC).The purpose of SAC is to monitor school improvement, to provide budget recommendations, to act as a communication link between the community and the school staff, to serve as a sounding board for the school administration and to monitor safety issues as related to school environment. This committee meets quarterly and is open to the school community. For additional information on our SAC you may contact me.
We would love to have you come and visit our school. If 90 minutes of reading instruction, Spanish for students in grades kindergarten through fifth, and a highly qualified teaching staff to name a few appeal to you, please call to set up an appointment for a school visit (719-234-5612). We would be most happy to schedule a tour for you and your family.
