Growing Space
Students begin a never-ending mission of learning at Academy Endeavour. Colorado Academic Standards are the foundation for all learning. Creativity and learning from mistakes is a common theme across classrooms. Teachers create an environment of trial and error where children improve through problem solving and respectful feedback.
Reading & Writing
Into Reading allows teachers to guide students on the path to independent reading and effective oral and written communication. This program ensures students receive the support and practice that they need by providing a highly supportive flexible approach to balanced literacy instruction. Into Reading provides teachers with a comprehensive library of trade books on a variety of topics and genres including culturally relevant and ethnically diverse text sets that build cross-disciplinary knowledge and serve as a springboard for writing and discussion.
Writing Alive uses grammar, language, structure and creativity to develop written communication skills in a program that builds up on itself over grades K through 5.
Math & Science
Understanding, not memorization, is the goal with Everyday Math at Academy Endeavour. Children solve real-world problems that shift learning to process and outcomes. Next Generation Science Standards allow students to students build a cohesive understanding of science over time, using inquiry-based, hands-on learning.
Exploring Humanities
Social Studies Alive and History Alive spark diverse thinking. Students create and examine real-life experiences to gain new perspectives about the world around them. All students participate in Spanish classes. Art courses teach techniques, appreciation and history, and students choose an instrument and learn how to read music.
Purposeful Technology
Academy Endeavour students and teachers are both trained to use technology meaningfully. Children learn digital citizenship and skills through coding and projects such as scientific models and broadcast programs. Laptops and tablets are available for check out from the school’s 21st century library.
